Step 3) Get To Know Your DynaMount

  • It is important to know what/where everything is on your DynaMount.
  • Please look over the images below to learn about the buttons, power & USB connections, mic cable guides, etc.
  • WARNING: When powered off, avoid moving the sliding platform(s) or rotating motors by hand. If absolutely necessary, move them very slowly.
  • CAUTION: Motors may get hot during use.

  • Take note of how the RESET and SETUP buttons are on opposite sides of the enclosure.

Vertical Setup

  • WARNING: If you have your DynaMount mounted vertically (or on an incline), DO NOT unplug the device without first supporting the weight of the microphone and sliding platform(s) with your hand. When the power is turned off, the motors no longer have any torque and the sliding platform(s) could fall quickly causing damage to your DynaMount or attached microphone. With sliding platform(s) and microphone supported, unplug the device and guide them very slowly down to a relaxed position.
  • Once familiar with your DynaMount, please proceed to the next step.

Step 4) Power Up Your DynaMount

  • After securely attaching your DynaMount to a sturdy microphone stand, plug in the included 12V DC adapter.

    Plug In 12V DC Adapter

  • The LED will immediately begin a slow “breathing” white as it boots up.
  • After 15 seconds of booting up, new DynaMounts will then automatically begin blinking blue.
  • Blinking blue means the DynaMount is in “Wi-Fi Setup” mode, and you are ready for the next step. LED not blinking blue?
  • If the LED is flashing green or solid yellow, hold the SETUP button for 5 seconds then release to reset your DynaMount into “Wi-Fi Setup” mode.

    SETUP Button

  • Please note, it may take up to 10-20 seconds after releasing the SETUP button before the DynaMount restarts. When it restarts, the LED will first turn white followed by the desired blinking blue.

Step 5) Setup Wi-Fi On Your DynaMount

  • This step configures your DynaMount so it can connect with your home/studio Wi-Fi network which is required for wireless control.
  • If you don’t have a Wi-Fi network and plan to use USB only, please review the USB Control guide.
  • It is recommended to position your DynaMount (with attached stand) close to your Wi-Fi router.
  • Your DynaMount must be in “Wi-Fi Setup” mode (blinking blue LED).

Wi-Fi Setup Mode - Blinking Blue LED

  • In “Wi-Fi Setup” mode (and only in this mode) your DynaMount will create & broadcast its own “DynaMount-XXXX” Wi-Fi network. Learn more…
  • The “DynaMount-XXXX” network is only used for the Wi-Fi setup process and not for controlling your DynaMount.
  • From your computer or mobile device, connect to the “DynaMount-XXXX” Wi-Fi network created by your DynaMount (no password required).

    Connect to 'DynaMount-XXXX' Wi-Fi network

  • Once connected, pull up an internet browser (Chrome is recommended) and in the address bar enter: http://192.168.0.1/
  • Regardless of whether you plan to use the iOS app, Android app, or Chrome app, this Wi-Fi Setup step must be completed using a regular internet browser.
  • You should now see the Wi-Fi Configuration screen in your browser :

    DynaMount Wi-Fi Configuration

  • Copy your DynaMount’s unique Device ID so you can paste it in the next step of this guide when adding a DynaMount to your profile. Can’t copy the ID?
  • In Firefox you may be unable to copy the Device ID. Please use a different browser or you will need to manually type in the Device ID in the next step.

Copy the Device ID & hit Scan

  • Hit “Scan” to display all available Wi-Fi networks. Don’t see your network?
  • If you don’t see the desired network listed, try moving your DynaMount closer to your Wi-Fi router then hit “Scan” again
  • If your Wi-Fi network doesn’t require a password it may not show up when you scan for nearby networks. Your DynaMount will only work on a Wi-Fi network that requires a password.
  • Your DynaMount will only work on a 2.4GHz band Wi-Fi network (not a 5GHz band network). Also, if you have a “dual-band” router make sure the 5GHz band is set to have a different network name and password than the 2.4GHz band. This will keep your router from attempting to automatically switch the DynaMount over to 5GHz.
  • If you have a firewall that hides your Wi-Fi network, your DynaMount will not be able to find it.
  • Select your home/studio Wi-Fi network, enter the network password & hit “Connect”.
  • You should immediately see the LED on your DynaMount begin blinking green which indicates that it is trying to connect to your Wi-Fi network.
  • Once your DynaMount successfully connects, the LED will begin a slow “breathing” green. Having trouble?
  • If the LED stays blinking blue after you hit “Connect”, try restarting the DynaMount. After booting up, it will now automatically connect to your network if the Wi-Fi credentials were in fact received successfully. If it stays blinking blue even after being reset, try completing the Wi-Fi setup process again.
  • If your DynaMount quickly flickers green and then goes back to a slow blinking blue, you may have incorrectly typed in your network password. Please reconnect to the “DynaMount-XXXX” network, refresh the Wi-Fi Configuration page and try again.
  • If it is stuck blinking green and you believe you may have entered an incorrect password, hold the SETUP button for 5 seconds then release to restart your DynaMount into Wi-Fi Setup mode.
  • If you’re sure you are correctly entering your password but it still is not connecting, try moving the DynaMount closer to your Wi-Fi router and try again.
  • Make sure your router is not set to use the deprecated WEP security protocol, your DynaMount will not work with WEP security. Change the security setting on your router to WPA2 or WPA instead.
  • If it is still unable to connect (blinking green quickly), please refer to our Troubleshooting FAQ for more tips to get connected.

Connecting To Network

  • Lastly, connect your computer or mobile device back to your home/studio Wi-Fi network which your DynaMount is now connected to.

Previous Step

Step 6) Add A DynaMount To Your Profile

  • Now your DynaMount should be happily connected to your Wi-Fi network (breathing green LED) and your profile is created & activated.
  • Log in to the control app of your choice (iOS, Android, or Chrome) and click on “Add A New DynaMount”. Getting a “Server Error”?
  • A “Server Error” indicates that the app is unable to connect to the internet.
  • Don’t forget to switch your computer/mobile device back over to your home/studio Wi-Fi network (since it was just connected to the “DynaMount-XXXX” network during setup).
  • While it is possible to control your DynaMount using a standalone Wi-Fi router (without internet access) in Offline Mode, you do need an internet connection to add a DynaMount to your profile.

Add A DynaMount To Your Profile

  • Give your DynaMount a name & paste the 24-digit Device ID that was copied earlier.
  • Enter in the 8-digit Serial Number, then press “Save”. Where is the Serial Number?
  • You can find the Serial Number printed on the silver sticker located on the DynaMount itself and/or on the box your DynaMount was shipped in.
  • For DynaMounts purchased before March 15, 2016, the Serial Number and Device ID are identical.

Save New DynaMount

Previous Step

Step 7) Control Your DynaMount

  • Click on the name of your new DynaMount in the “Your Devices” list.

    Select Your DynaMount

  • The control screen will load and adjust automatically depending on which model DynaMount you are controlling.
  • Each time your DynaMount is powered up it needs to calibrate.
  • You can either click the blue gear icon (in the top right of the screen) and then hit the “Calibrate Device” button, or you can simply try to control your DynaMount with one of the white sliding arrows or blue “nudge” arrows and it will automatically alert if calibration is needed.

    Calibrate Your DynaMount

  • Your DynaMount will run through a calibration sequence and then is ready for use!
  • If your DynaMount is not responding this may be due to insufficient Wi-Fi signal strength. If this happens, move your Wi-Fi router closer to where you have your DynaMount set up then try again, or check out the other tips in our Troubleshooting FAQ. Please keep in mind that your DynaMount will perform at its best with a nice strong Wi-Fi signal.
  • If you are using something like a Wi-Fi “range extender” it must be configured a certain way to work with your DynaMount. Please see our Troubleshooting FAQ for more info.
  • Slide and release the white Control Gauge Arrows for longer motions or tap the blue Nudge Arrows for fine-tuning the position of your microphone as desired. Use the Preset/Recall buttons to save specific positions to be returned to on command.

    Control Gauges

  • Please refer to the User Guides for info on all available control functions, using USB, troubleshooting, etc.
  • Also, please review the Product Specifications for details on maximum allowed microphone weights & other important info.
  • Have fun!
